Bygone era recalled in art exhibit
Since May, the art installation, titled from shangri-la to shangri-la, has garnered widespread interest from crowds at Offsite, the Vancouver Art Gallery's North Vancouver may soon be home to several permanent squatter shacks -- a move that was warmly welcomed by six North Vancouver district councillors and Mayor Richard Walton at a recent council meeting.
There's a hitch, of course: these shacks are not intended to be habitable dwellings, but public art. North Shore News, September 24, 3020

Ontario creates $27M Arts Investment Fund
The Ontario government has announced it will give an additional $27 million over the next three years to non-profit arts groups as operating funds.
