Karsh portraits donated to CHEO. Although Yousuf Karsh never pursued his first love of becoming a physician, his work found a place in the halls of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario on Tuesday after his widow donated 30 more of his intimate portraits to the existing collection, making CHEO the home of the largest permanent Karsh photography collection in the world. Ottawa Citizen, July 11, 2012

Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art Says That’s All, Folks – for Now  The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, in SoHo, announced, without elaboration, on its Web site on Monday that it was closing its “physical location,” effective immediately. The museum, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, also puts on the MoCCA Festival, a two-day celebration of comics, every April.  New York Times, July 10, 2012

Austrian City's 'Virtual Public Library', With QR Codes Instead Of Card Catalogues "Strangely, the Austrian city of Klagenfurt doesn't have a public library ... However, an initiative dubbed Project Ingeborg is turning the municipality into a book repository of sorts with 70 QR code and NFC chip-equipped stickers.
