City won’t subsidize next Mendel tenants City councillors will not to subsidize any of the existing Mendel Art Gallery building — except the civic conservatory — when a new tenant is chosen. Monday’s decision leaves any future tenant with around $400,000 in rent a year, a significant jump.  Star Phoenix, July 12, 2011

Art gallery names new curator The Art Gallery of Windsor has a new curator of contemporary art. Srimoyee Mitra officially took the position on Monday. According to an AGW news release, Mitra was chosen after “an intensive national search.”  The Windsor Star, July 12, 2011

Thieves snatch 11 works of art from gallery  Eleven original Canadian works of art, including three paintings by members of the Group of Seven, have been stolen from a Davisville gallery.
